Austin Black Student SaviOURS
CONTRIBUTE TO THE MOVEMENT
Partner with Black Women In Business and Black Men In Business in their commitment to helping Austin black college graduates pay for partial and full student loan debt.
Student loan debt is worsening wealth inequality in black college graduates. They have nearly 70% more student loan debt than their white peers. So, they are sent into the world educated, with yet another disadvantage. We want to SAVE the future of OUR black scholars and increase the Austin black population by investing with a purpose.
Those students graduating in the Spring of 2019 will be able to apply in the Spring of 2020 (with specific guidelines). Black Men In Business and Black Women In Business invite organizations, businesses, groups, churches and ministries to partner with us. The goal is to create a platform that evens the “playing field” for those who have pursued higher education.
We are in the beginning stages, and it is important for us to have some “skin in the game.” We are accepting donations ($1 and up). Those who make a donation during Black History Month will be added to our Founding Contributors List.
